Most products are designed to look nice from the front only. When designing the Consolette we kept in mind that we wanted to design a product that looks nice from any angle. The result is a beautiful 3-Dimensional-Design that has no side you would rather not look at.

Front Panel

The front panel is made out of a single piece of anodized aluminium - for a luxury touch and ultimate rigidity. It also eliminates vibrations that could harm the sensitive audio signals coming from inside the device.
Gyro Wheel

Gyro Wheel

In the 1970s we introduced our first FM tuner and it was equipped with an analog "Gyro Wheel" to finetune stations with. It was a heavy flywheel connected to a wire-construction inside the device. By turning the wheel you moved the wires. The result: the needle moved from left to right across the frequency band.
On the Consolette we implemented an electronic, multi functional Gyro Wheel for adjusting the volume, tuning through internet radio stations, skipping forward/backward and scrolling through the setup menu.

Balanced Mode Radiator (BMR)

Balanced Mode Radiator (BMR)

Instead of using standard speaker cones we used special Balanced Mode Radiator (BMR) drivers for the mid and high frequencies with an extended frequency response and a much wider directivity in comparison to conventional drivers. This way we could create an accurate sound stage and a better stereo imaging with little sweet spot sensitivity.

V-Shaped Acoustic Chamber

The back of the Consolette is V-Shaped which gives it its very distinguished look. Besides the outstanding appearance the shape eliminates standing waves inside the cabinet and creates a wider stereo image. In addition we have created maximum volume to allow a deeper bass reproduction.

Internet Radio Wireless Music Streaming AirPlay

Internet Radio

Built-in internet radio offer a multitude of free internet radio stations via the Apps. Six stations can even be stored directly on the device. This way the favorite choice is always available, even when the smart phone is not around.

Wireless Music Streaming

From any portable (smart) device that runs on Android or Windows – only thing to do: Installing the free App and connecting the device to the wireless home network. Streaming is also possible from any PC, Mac® or NAS (Network Attached Storage).

This Consolette has been designed to dock any iPod, iPhone or iPad and has been certified to meet Apple performance standards.

The top grade RCA terminals have a copper base with teflon isolation providing an audiophile extension for music enjoyment from any external analogue music source. The terminals are gold-plated which ensures durability and prevents erosion which could harm the sensitive audio signal.

Ethernet/WiFi

To enjoy wireless music streaming from your mobile device, listening to Internet Radio or browsing your network for available music you can wirelessly integrate the Consolette in your home Wi-Fi Network using NetLink or Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS). For those who prefer a wired connection we also incorporated an Ethernet port.
USB Port

USB Port

The USB port can be used to connect a USB memory drive or hard drive and play back the music stored on it.

The App offers you the easiest way to integrate the Consolette into your home Wi-Fi network: just dock your iOS device into the Consolette, press the NetLink button and follow the on-screen instructions. That's all.

OLED Display

The Consolette is equipped with a bright OLED display showing you the source, album information, volume indication or time. This display can also be used to scroll through the setup menu. In relation to a common display an OLED display is much brighter and utilizes a specially developed, large Font Type making the display readable even from a distance. Light intensity is adjustable as well to match personal needs.

The Consolette can also be operated from any smart phone or tablet by installing the specially developed Consolette App. Additional features include: Direct music streaming via the Premium Music Player, playback Queue, access to more than 70,000 internet radio stations via TuneIn and advance Alarm Features. On top you can even browse your home network for available music. The Marantz App for the Consolette is available for iOS and Android.

The Marantz Consolette App

The Consolette cannot only be operated by the remote control but also by a special App. Installed on a smart phone or tablet it can fully control Consolette. Furthermore it offers additional functionalities like:

  • Premium music player – Browse your iPod library by Artist, Song, Playlist or Album and create new and edit existing Playlists.
  • All-encompassing music server – Browse and play music files from any PC, Mac or NAS drive connected to your network and from any USB drive or any other portable device.
  • Easy access to internet radio – Get any of the thousands of Internet radio stations worldwide and browse by location, genre, language or podcast.
  • Fast and easy setup/operation – Full remote control of your Consolette. Stream music wirelessly to the Consolette or any other Marantz product.
